Funerals here at Saint Joseph’s Monastery Parish
We know that when someone you love passes away, it is a time of sadness and grief. There will be many questions regarding a funeral. Please know that you will have the support and care to help you and your family through this difficult time.
Who you will work with
Gail Fischer, our pastoral associate, will walk with you through the planning of the funeral. Gail will help you in selecting scripture readings and music for the liturgy and answer any questions you have. Gail can be reached at the parish office 410-566-0877 or by email [email protected].
To help in your planning here are some resources to get you started. For the liturgy, there is a first reading, responsorial psalm, which is sung by the cantor, and if you wish, a second reading. You may choose a Gospel reading which is read by the priest or let Father choose the Gospel reading. You may also choose a prayer of the faithful which follows the homily and is read by a family member or friend of the family.
